About Us
The Broadway Motel is a family owned business with a very clear vision of providing quality accommodation and service to people from New Zealand and all over the world, in a friendly family environment. When you stay with us, we will do our utmost to ensure you get every opportunity to enjoy all the bounties that Marlborough has to offer and have a enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Both of us (Donna & Henry) are true West Coasters, being born and bred on the Coast, spending the majority of our lives in Hokitika. After being made redundant we moved to Christchurch for five years before buying the Broadway Motel Business. We have three lovely daughters, Nikki (married to Brian), Haley (married to Steve) and Louise. The other members of our family include: our two grandsons, Hunter (Peanut) and Rhylee (Rhydog) and also a cat name Lillian - who loves attention. So when you come and stay at the Broadway Motel, you can expect to be welcomed by at least one member of the family with some true friendly West Coast hospitality.
When we first envisioned owning a motel over 30 years ago, our goal was always to provide a future for our children, particularly in times of adversity and to give them the opportunity to work in their own business. It has taken a long time to realise this dream, with Haley & Steve now finally managing the Broadway Motel.
Looking after our environment is very important part of our business. We achieve this by reducing our waste, conserving our resources and recycling wherever possible, so that we pass on an unpolluted natural resource for all our children to enjoy. We are a family that enjoys the outdoors and are more than willing to pass on our personal experiences to all our guests, on what Marlborough has to offer.
One thing that we all pride ourselves on, is our personal friendly service, no matter who in the family meets you when you check-in. We are happy to organise activities for you while you are staying here in Picton, such as: a wine tour, dolphin watching or swimming, cruising or walking in the Sounds, guided walks, canoeing and a ferry trip across the Cook Strait.
So why not come and stay at the Broadway Motel and let us look after you while you are in our playground.
We look forward to meeting you soon,
Henry & Donna Kersten, Haley & Steve Brabant
