New Year's Party - IGNITE 2012/13

Ignite Marlborough - New Year's 2012/ 2013 - Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2012 at Ignite Marlborough on London Quay, Picton. Picton’s annual New Year’s Eve party has evolved into an even bigger event with co-sponsors Port Marlborough and the Interislander now joined by the Marlborough District Council. The new event, Ignite Marlborough, includes a programme of live music from 7.30pm – 12.30pm, with the spectacular fireworks display at midnight. It promises to be a great night of fun.

Picton Maritime Festival

Saturday 19 January

Enjoy all things Maritime at the free to enter festival which held on the Picton foreshore area from 11am - 12 midnight. The festival has something for everyone with cooking demonstrations, static displays, clinker boats, Lifesaving on the sea,  volunteer fire brigade, bouncy castles, raft races for all age groups, craft market, food stalls, a fabulous free children’s programme which includes the very popular Pirate Band, Walk on Water activity, interactive games and more. In the evening the fabulous fireworks extravaganza is timed for 10pm so the children can stay up and watch. Kick up your heels or just sit back relax and be entertained by local musicians and national talent. Returning for 2013 festival is the very popular band “Late 80’s Mercedes”, whilst taking in Pictons stunning scenery and enjoy some great quality time with your family and friends.
