WAIRAU RIVER WINES

Wairau River Wines takes its name from the river on whose banks Phil and Chris Rose planted their first vines in 1978, Wairau being the Maori name for ‘many waters’. The Rose family were pioneers in the now prestigious Rapaura district, their foresight recognising the potential for the region’s free draining stony soil and abundantly pure artesian water.

Allan Scott Wines is a family business established and operated by Catherine and Allan Scott. The winery is now one of the older established in the region. It has a solid reputation for medal-winning wines, fine food and award-winning premises. The 24 hectare vineyard and winery complex are located on Jacksons Road.
